2012 11 & Over Long Course Championships and Senior Sectionals
2012 Long Course Championships
CAT was well represented at the Oregon Swimming 11 & Over Long Course Championships, July 19-22 at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham. Congratulations to Kayla Ashland, Rylie Ball, Molly Beamer, Alex Brookes, Anthony Brost, Ian Campbell, Joe Cihak, Nick Gambatese, Lexi Heyerly, Jessie James, Connor King, Annette Marinello, Logan Parker, Jenny Pinard, Zoey Rochefort, Emily Shaw, Rachel Shaw, Brandon Shreeve, Lindsey Soulé, Austin Turner, Erika Twenge, Adrian Van Horsen, Kieran Van Horsen, Zane Van Horsen, Allison Wells, and Meredith Wells.
Swimmers who competed for CAT last weekend at the Speedo Western Section Long Course Championships, also at MHCC, were Logan Storie, Aya Fujimuru, Jenni Dole, and Anthony Brost.
New CAT long course records were set at the two meets by Lindsey Soulé in the 11-12 girls 200 IM and 1500 free, and by Logan Storie in the open 50 free, 50 fly, and 100 fly.
CAT swimmers who placed in the top 8 at the 11 & over Championships were: Molly Beamer (4th 200 fly, 5th 400 free, 7th 200 free, 7th 100 fly); Alex Brookes (2nd 800 free, 6th 100 back, 7th 200 back); Joe Cihak (6th 100 free); Jessie James (1st 200 back, 2nd 200 IM, 2nd 100 back, 2nd 200 free); Zoey Rochefort (1st 1500 free; 6th 400 free); Emily Shaw (7th 800 free); Brandon Shreeve (1st 800 free, 2nd 400 free, 5th 200 back, 8th 400 IM); Lindsey Soule' (1st 1500 free, 2nd 200 IM, 2nd 400 free, 3rd 800 free, 4th 200 free, 6th 200 back); Kieran Van Horsen (6th 400 free, 6th 100 fly), and Zane Van Horsen (5th 800 free).
At the Senior Sectional meet, Logan Storie placed 1st in the 50 free, 1st in the 200 free, 3rd in the 100 free, and 7th in the 100 fly.
